This book reflects the importance of Higher Secondary education and its historical reforms and development in India in a period of repeated change in the system and pattern. The higher secondary education in India with the changing system expanded considerably. The programme of diversification of higher secondary education had been implemented a long back. But the achivement of his programme is quite unsatisfactory due to absence of an effective link with the revelant sectors. A landmark change in the system and pattern of higher secondary education implemented in India since 1968 by introducing the National Policy of Education which was reviewed in 1968.
