This study tries to explore the educational philosophies of some of India's well-known thinkers. Concentrated upon the ideals of education that should be adopted in the country, it discusses at length the educational philosophies propounded by Swami Dayananda, Swami Vivekananda, Annie Besant, Sri Aurobindo, Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore.
