This book is divided into six chapters. Te First chapter attempts to find out the origin of secularism. It attempts to define the meaning of the term secular, secularization, secularism and secular state. The Second chapter deals with the concept of secularism in India. It attempts to identify historical background and concept in the Constitution of India. The Third chapter deals with the practices of secularism in India on the part of government and political parties. The Fourth chapter is concerned with the Judiciary and Secularism.
