The book 'Foundations of Education' is intended to provide a purely philosophical basis for the objectives of Education. Apart from it, there is sample material related to sociology, psychology and pedagogy. The first part of the book deals with the philosophy in general and peace philosophy in particular. The second part is related to Sociology of Education. The third part deals with psychological perspective which contains three sub-aspects: Scope and relevance of psychology in the field of Education, learning theories and motivation. The fourth part deals with education and Pedagogy. In fact, it has two subparts like education and its relation to those philosophical aspects that have direct relation to theory and practice of education. And, the second sub-part deals with teaching-learning aspects which are practical side of the social, philosophical and psychological dimensions. In this part, there are chapters like, the teacher, motivation, the importance of teaching etc.
