This comprehensive bibliography in two volumes offers an unique opportunity to the scholars to have a kaleidoscopic view of the studies done so far on the various facets of history, art, culture and urban studies of the great city – Delhi, through books, articles from learned periodicals, dissertations, research reports and important press clippings.
Volume I incorporates more than six thousand entries classified into twenty major subjects – Anthropology, Archaeology, Architecture, Archives, Arts, Bibliographies, Biographies, Conservation & Encyclopaedias, Epigraphy including Calligraphy, Exhibitions & Fairs, History, Institutions & Professional Organisations, Language & Literature, Libraries & Information Centres, Monuments, Museums & Art Galleries, Numismatics, Philosophy & Religion and Travel, Tourism & Guide Books which have furthr been classified into several sub-groups. Except a few divisions like Architecture, Epigraphy, History and Numismatics, where the arrangement is chronological, entries in other main groups have been alphabetically arranged. Entries are mainly in English language, although a few important documents in Sanskrit, Hindi and Urdu have also been included.
Volume II is a comprehensive inventory of research materials on urban studies of Delhi.
