DESCRIPTION
Organic agriculture is an answer to our problems of environment degradation, unsafe food, polluted water, degraded land and wide range of illness due to unsustainable agriculture. Organic agriculture has in its fold all agriculture systems that promote environmentally, socially and economically sound production. It is not just a philosophy, but is also a means to stabilise our food production through maintenance of soil health and avoiding use of hazardous chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides which have been disturbing our ecosystem on large scale. The present volume is a compilation of research and review articles on various facets of organic farming for sustainable agriculture. It is hoped that this publication will create more interest in organic farming and for conserving, maintaining and developing agroecosystem for sustainable agriculture.
