| The book entitled "Fundamentals of Limnology" has been edited to cover a broad area to freshwater ecology in order to meet the needs of students/ researchers interested in all aspects of Freshwater Ecology. Water is also important for socio-economic development, food security and poverty alleviation, so water is elixir for human beings. In spite of its great importance, the quality of natural water resources is being rapped without taking slightest care for the generations to come. How to manage water has, thus, become one of the great challenges of 21st century. The present book has been prepared against the background of the above mentioned challenges.
