The present volume entitled Buddhism in India and Abroad gives a broad survey of the traditions of Buddhism, Buddha's teachings and the cultural significance. More than twenty scholars of high standing from different countries have contributed their valuable articles in this volume. Earnest attempts have been made by the scholars to bring out useful aspects of Buddhism in transnational and comparative perspective and many of its varied philosophical speculations are well discussed. From the early times there is ample evidence about Buddhism as a key aspect of life. The mystery of birth and deaths the challenge of life itself, has always moved mankind to reach out to something Someone beyond in search of meaning. No one it has been said can understand mankind without understanding the faiths of humanity. The editors have edited this volume with painstaking scholarship and broad vision, which is bound to receive appreciation from the scholars of India and abroad. This book will be very helpful to the students especially of the Buddhist Studies.
