DESCRIPTION
India possesses a long and ancient tradition of imparting medical education to students in a systematic matter. This tradition was kept up by the Europeans, particularly the British, when they intended to teach medicine to the Indians. After experimenting with the synthesis of different systems of medicine, they came to decide in favour of imparting only the Western medical education, and so organised medical schools and collages parts of the country.
