My source of inspiration for writing this book is to bring almost all Rasashastriya Granthas under one roof. There are many Rasashastriya Granthas. The knowledge of these Granthas is scattered here and there. I made a mere attempt to bring almost all Rasashastriya Granthas on one platform so that it becomes easier to recall or remember.
Rasashastra is a vast treasure of knowledge on mercury and various other metals regarding different methods of their purification and their therapeutic uses. The formulations described in Rasashastra are fast acting, effective and more potent. The scope (of Rasashastra) is very vast and it encompasses the study of ancient equipments, various appliances, many minerals, gems and animal sources as medicine. In this book apart from a translation from the classics, a sincere effort for the conceptual understanding of the subject is attempted by me. I am sure it will be appreciated by the students, researchers, teachers and even by a common man. However, this Grantha has been written more in the interest of the students of MD Rasashastra as per syllabus which is common all over India. I hope it will serve the purpose.
