The Sutra of the Recollection of the Noble Three Jewels is compilation of the Buddha's teachings called “the recollections”. The recollections are widely used throughout all Buddhist traditions as a way of remembering the Three Jewels and deepening faith in them. This book is a particularly complete collection of everything needed to study, practice, and even translate the Sutra.
This book has been widely acclaimed by a number of important Tibetan teachers. Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, for example, was very pleased to hear that it is now available. The Sutra is the first text studied in almost every Tibetan monastery and college. Because of that, many Tibetan teachers have been wanting their Western students to study it but commentaries on it have not been translated into English till now. There are two main commentaries on the Sutra in the Tibetan tradition; one by Taranatha and one by Mipham. Both commentaries have been translated for the book. Moreover, these commentaries do not always make sense to a Western mind, so the author has written a major commentary to the Sutra directly in English for the sake of Western students.
Although we have many titles on very profound dharma such as Great Completion and Mahamudra, we think that this is our most important publication to date. It is the basis for developing a strong trust in the Three Jewels and as such is the foundation for all Buddhist practice. As with all our books, publication quality is very high, with best quality papers, inks, colour plates, and so on.
