CONTENTS:- 1. Temples of North and south India. 2. Ajanta and Bagh Paintings. 3. Sculptures of Kushana Period. 4. Two Islamic Monuments in Delhi and Agra.
The book is divided into four sections: temples, paintings, sculptures and architecture. Although the coverage of these sections is limited to a few familiar case studies, they certainly serve the purpose of arousing a sense of recollection of the wonder that India was. For an inquisitive reader, the author has lucidly presented the glimpses of Khajuraho, Konark, Kailasanatha, and Brihadiswara temples; Ajanta and Bagh paintings; sculptures of the Kushana period; and the tombs of Humayun and I’timad-ud-Daula. The book will be of great help to the students and scholars in art and archaeology.
