Arshas or Haemorrhoids is foremost common disease among Anorectal disorders. It is considered as one of the Mahagada (difficult to cure) and challenging disease for the surgeons. In present book the topics have been discussed in detail in Ayurvedic classics especially the Sushruta Samhita considered to be specialized in surgical practice. Along with detailed surgical technique, a parasurgical measures i.e. Ksharasutra (caustic cautary), Ksharasutra (caustic thread), Agnikarma (thermal cautary) and Raktamokshana (blood letting) have been highlighted. The book deals with detailed description regarding Arshas or haemorrhoids including aetiopatho-genesis, symptology and management.
The present book consists of critical analysis and discussion on various aspects of Arshas/Haemorrhoids. A sincere effort has been made to propose different treatment modalities so that it would be better understood, how and when to institute the therapy. The visual illustrations of different types of Arshas/haemorrhoids with recent trends in the management are enlightened.
