DESCRIPTION |
 |
| The treatise on co-operative Legislation is a maiden attempt in the country to holistically ponder over the trends and dimensions as evolved during the last one century at one place. The 10 chapter studded volume exhaustively traces the growth of Co-operative law in retrospect (1904 ands 1912 Acts, recommendations of Committees and Commissions and other latest developments); explains the rationality of traditional legislation, Model Act; Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act; Producer Companies; and urges upon indispensability of subordinate legislation (Byelaws and amendments), restructuring of Union Administrative Ministry and above-all Reinventing Co-operatives in the New Millennium, has also been vividly portrayed. The painstaking comprehensive volume is an outcome of the author's varied experience as a teacher, researcher, Nominee Director on Board of Co-operatives and his skills in setting up a Co-operative institute abroad. In his Preface, Dr. S.R. Hashim, Chairman, U.P.S.C., Delhi, remarks, "The Volume systematically proceeds to describe Co-operative scenario and administrative framework followed by an analysis of the genesis, growth, main provisions, drawbacks, and limitations of Co-operative Legislation both at State and Union Level". Dr. A.R. Kidwai, H.E. Governor, Haryana, in his Introduction to the book observes, "Dr. Goel has demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the subject.... This attempt becomes special relevant as it has been made at a time when the debate about the need to implement reforms in Co-operative Legislation is being realized as compelling.... A useful guide in view of its topicality, treatment and content". This reference book is very relevant, informative and highly creditable for Co-operative professionals, academicians, trainers and students alike in Public Administration, Law, Business Management and Economics. |
