The rise of the Muslim power and the coming of age of the Islamic civilization during the first century of the Hijra were events of unequalled significance in man’s moral and social development. These events confronted the “World of Ignorance” with a crisis of an unprecedented magnitude. So far Islam was no more than a religious movement, but henceforth it emerged as a complete civilization, refined, progressive and full of life and energy.
