| Great Gurus of the Sikhs in six volumes is a monumental work by the editor drawing every succinct information on each of the ten Sikh Gurus from unapproachable historical and religious sources. These volumes should not be treated simply as biographical sketches of their teachings, philosophies, travelogues. But their sufferings and sacrifices for the country, their mythological and theological aspects, socio-economic reforms, their political contentions and wars with the autocracy at their times and many more touching incidents of their lives, miracles which they manifested on several occasions--all have been contained in them. These volumes are treasures of religious wealth enshrined in their sacred Vanis, viz. Guru Granth Sahib and on political scenario of their times. The sufferings of the Gurus were immense during Mughal period, Guru Arjun Dev, Guru Teg Bahadur and Guru Gobind Singh sacrificed every thing for the sake of their sincere love for humanity and reforming zeal. Repressive policies and numerous manoevres could not bend them, instead the rulers had to bow before them for their unparallelled and unmatched chivalry in spite of great emotional hurdles. These volumes are a faithful and sincere narration of the political and, social conditions, religious fanaticity of the rulers, prevailing at that time and how all these Great Gurus not only fought against heavy odds but simultaneously never allowed to fade away the spiritual lamp lighted by them which even today imparts eternal peace to thousands of people not only the Sikhs but all other religions.
